What is GLOMUN?

Global Leaders Online Model United Nations is a two-day, international youth conference conducted virtually through Zoom from June 26-27, 2021. GLOMUN will feature 12+ committees: General Assemblies, Specialized committees, and Crisis committees. General Assemblies will also include committees in THIMUN procedure and in Spanish. These committees will debate a diverse set of topics that range from historical, political, fantasy, and so much more. Our largest GA committees will be comprised of at most 40 delegates, and our smallest crisis committees will consist of about 15 delegates, ensuring that each participant receives the same, personalized GLOMUN experience, while still engaging with a diverse cross section of students.

GLOMUN was inspired by student Model United Nations leaders from around the world, who aimed to bring the Model United Nations experience to students, despite restrictions on large gatherings imposed by the global pandemic. The unique, virtual nature of our conference will allow delegates to engage in live debates from their homes in almost every continent. This is truly an unprecedented feat in the world of Model United Nations, and we are beyond excited to pave the way for future conferences.

Our leadership team consists of over 70 dedicated high school students from over 12 countries. The GLOMUN staff represents an extremely diverse set of backgrounds but remains united by a shared passion for global dialogue and an unwavering commitment to professionalism.

We look forward to welcoming you to GLOMUN 2021 in June!

Our Conference Philosophy

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the international Model United Nations community is standing together in solidarity and in support of one another, inspiring GLOMUN’s conference theme of empathy. In the face of the magnitude of such unprecedented circumstances, we encourage delegates to collaborate, unleash their creativity, and to take unified action to broaden societal aims on ameliorating omnipresent injustices which permeate our daily lives. We encourage you to consider new perspectives and challenge boundaries in light of realizing that the greatest freedom and fulfillment manifests when rising together. Therefore, GLOMUN will be donating all net conference proceeds to the United Nations World Health Organization’s Solidarity Response Fund to provide medical equipment and other recovery resources to those in need. No matter how far, together we will get there. Please join us in supporting the United Nation’s work at GLOMUN 2021.
