Once you have submitted the registration form, GLOMUN’s Director-General of Operations, Sophia Hlavaty, will send you a confirmation email within 48 hours that contains a link to the payment website. If you do not receive the confirmation email within 48 hours of your submission, please email the Director-General of Operations at [email protected]. Within two weeks of your payment, the Director-General of Operations will send the delegation’s advisor committee and country assignments.
Given the virtual nature and summer timeframe of the GLOMUN conference, we welcome delegates who are unable to participate in a school or program delegation to register as an independent. Independent delegations must have a minimum size of one. If the delegation consists of more than one individual, we require that there be an advisor. Please indicate on the registration form if the independent delegate will be acting as their own advisor; we only allow this option if there is one delegate in the independent delegation. Independent delegates can register for GLOMUN 2020 using the same registration form.
Conference Fees and Timeline
As GLOMUN’s registration is organized through a first-come, first-serve basis, it is in your best interest to adhere to the deadlines enumerated below. Should delegations or independent delegates desire to participate in GLOMUN but are unable to register in time or the conference reaches capacity, they will be placed on the waitlist. If committee spots open up prior to August 1, the Director-General of Operations will notify delegations or independent delegates on the waitlist. All net conference proceeds will be donated to the United Nations World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
Payment instructions will be provided in the confirmation email sent to advisors from the Director-General of Operations within 48 hours after successful completion of the GLOMUN registration form. The conference fee for each delegate is $20 USD. The only payment option that GLOMUN will accept is payment made through our conference Venmo page, which will be linked in the confirmation email. Within one week following execution of the payment process, the Director-General of Operations will send you a second confirmation email.
The registration deadline is July 22, 2020 and the payment deadline is July 24, 2020. We would appreciate receiving your payment at the latest two weeks after you received your delegation’s registration confirmation email. We understand that the uncertain circumstances characterizing our contemporary moment may prevent your delegation from providing the necessary payment by the deadline; if such is the case, please reach out to the Director-General of Operations as soon as possible. However, if final payment is not received by July 24, 2020, your delegation will unfortunately be unable to participate in GLOMUN 2020 and we will forfeit your registered assignments to those on the waiting list.
The Secretariat of GLOMUN 2020 seeks to support future leaders from around the globe by providing financial assistance to delegations that would otherwise be unable to participate due to impediments exacerbated by financial restrictions. Given that we have a limited number of financial scholarships, our ask is that those who are requesting financial support provide a compelling, demonstrated need for aid. Each delegate must submit their own financial aid form. Financial aid applications are due by July 23, 2020, and the Director-General of Operations will send you the decision within 48 hours of your submission.
Committee Preferences and Assignments
Committee and country preferences are submitted through the registration form. Please note that if you would like to modify your delegation’s preferences, you cannot change your response to the survey questions. Rather, you must send an email directly to the Director-General of Operations at [email protected].
Committee and country assignments will be sent to the delegation’s advisor within two weeks after the advisor has submitted payment. Please understand that while registration is done on a first-come, first-serve basis, committee and country assignments are not done in such a manner as the GLOMUN secretariat aims to enrich the delegate experience by creating balanced, diverse committees.
